Time For a Change of Scenery

Without the hope of a vacation, I changed the only scenery I could. So, it's a little lighter here, now. I made the new background all by myself. You can probably tell. In fact, I made a bunch of them, but I like this one a lot. I'm trying to get back in the groove here, after many long, dark days. It might occur in baby steps, but at least this is a start. Please bear with me. And forgive me for my recent silence.

ummmm... ~stumbling around~ uuhhhhh... wow... err, interesting... **crashes into the wall** ...I think it may be triggering seizures... very, um, very colorful... I do love the white backround and the fonts & colors. Your using the same change of scenery theory as I am, can't afford to leave, so when I leave mentally, change the virtual space.

Nicely done a bit bright but none the less nicely done.

It's busy. Not boring, certainly.

It takes a crazy pattern to make a detail from a Bosch triptych look understated.

Ooooh, pretty, clean and adds interest. Ignore the boys - they can't blog and chew gum at the same time.

Welcome back, dawlin. For obvious reasons I cannot criticize another blogger for having a colorful template. I like it.

Well, thanks for all the feedback. I may play around with some other backgrounds, but for now, this one is more cheery to me and cheery is what I need these days. BTW, Ashley went all Christmasy on us for a second. He inspired me.

For me to inspire anyone artistically in any way, shape, or form is mind-boggling.

Thank you for the ultimate compliment.a

I like it! It gives me an excuse to press "ctrl-option-cmd-8" on my Mac!

Thanks Lisa! ;-)

Whoooaaa.. pi22seven! I'd never done that before! Cool.

Lisa, I think it looks great, and I don't think it's "Christmasy". I'm sorry the days have been dark and hope that all can be better soon.

Ashley, you shouldn't be surprised. And I think you should bring the snowman back.

Wow, Pi! I didn't know about that one either.

Thanks, Sophmom! I'm going to keep the scenery as it is for a while.

You Feng Shui'ed your template--open but not too open, a minimalist's bright bleached white with intricately colored borders, inviting straight edges in the center but labyrythine curly Q's on the sides. Photoshop or Fireworks? I ax.

I love it!
Wordpress is strictly template and I'm a little jealous.

I'm glad the scales are leaning a little more in favor of the redesign.

Addict, I'll bet you can change your template in Wordpress. That's all I did here. I changed backgrounds on the Blogger template. My Wordpress friends say it's a much better interface, so I'd bet you have lots of options.

David-O, I used Photoshop to make my lovely pattern. Hand (mouse) drawn and colored, then assembled and rendered to "Pattern." I even created an action script so that I can crank them out at near-lightspeed. I have some neat, semi-transparent ones (every other pixel removed) that I made to go over a colored background, but I'm sticking with this for now.

I have a bunch of half-finished posts in the drafts bin as well. I haven't been lurking around as much either. I think we're all due a change of weather, and maybe a (brief) change of scenery (hopefully not induced by Joyce).
