You can try clicking the link above (the blog title, not the picture) to get to Kirk Jopseph's front page article in the Times Picayune (our daily paper) or you can try this link, then select the article entitled "Sousafunk Synergy," but you may be required to enter your zip code, gender and year of birth before you get the article. That's not asking too much, is it?
We're playing the festival today, so tune in to WWOZ.org online between 3:15 and 4:15 PM, because our show (a "Critic's Choice" in Gambit Weekly), was chosen to be broadcast- or webcast, as the case may be- out of all the groups performing on a dozen or so other stages at that time.
Today is such a happy day!
It's 8:00 AM and time to go to sleep. We had a 2:00AM show last night (this morning) and I arrived home from that around 6:00 AM. I've got to get a little sleep before I have to leave, hopefully around 11:30 AM to catch Ivan Neville at 12:15 PM (if I can actually get up) ...and then we have a big show tonight, too, that probably won't end until around 4:00 AM or so. I've got a big carafe of tea ready for when I have to get up.... This is Jazz Fest.
